LOCATION: 10th and East Cary Streets in the brick walkway entrance to the James Center.
ARTIST: David Phillips.
DEDICATION: May 13, 1985.
DESCRIPTION: Three part assemblages of a bronze briefcase, calculator and fedora molded each with a different colored patina.
Happy 25th birthday to this sculpture! The three items are placed inconspicuously on a brick wall to allow the illusion that the items are real. Fedoras are back in style, which makes it a little more cute. I wonder if Mechanicsville’s own Jason Mraz has seen this public art?
